FRIENDS OF JENNIFER LIMA
CASE STUDY

THE CHALLENGE.
Jennifer Lima sought re-election to the North Kingstown School Committee. As a staunch advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, equity, and inclusive education, Jennifer faced intense scrutiny and a wave of misinformation aimed at tarnishing her reputation.
This case study highlights how we leveraged innovative social media strategies, real-time responsiveness, and powerful messaging to overcome the challenges of a contentious political campaign and drive meaningful engagement with her constituents.

STRAIGHT FROM THE SOURCE.
To humanize Jennifer’s social media presence and counteract her unfair reputation, we directed a compelling interview that showcased her authenticity, values, and dedication to the community. By giving her a face and a voice, we bridged the gap between perception and reality, allowing her to connect on a personal level with her audience.
Subsequent social media posts from the interview highlighted her compassion and commitment, effectively reframing her narrative and fostering deeper trust and understanding among voters.

CRITICAL CONTENT.
We created a powerful video highlighting the daily hate commentary Jennifer Lima receives on her social media, exposing the vitriol aimed at her for defending LGBTQ rights and equity. The video served a dual purpose: it called attention to the urgency of her cause while shedding light on the presence of hate within the community.
By confronting these harsh realities, the video resonated deeply with supporters and emphasized the critical need to vote in order to protect students and uphold values of inclusion and fairness. This bold approach turned negativity into a rallying cry for positive change.
OUR STRATEGY.
We crafted a high-velocity social media campaign for Jennifer Lima that leveraged creative and provocative copy to capture attention and drive action. By combining compelling visuals with narrative-driven posts, we created brand-aligned templates and treated each post as part of a cohesive story—complete with problem statements, engaging content, and calls to action.
Focusing on real-time, dynamic engagement, we addressed misinformation directly, turning challenges into opportunities to clarify Jennifer’s values and goals. This high-impact strategy ensured her message stayed front and center, activating voters and building a strong, responsive online presence.

WHY WE USED ILLUSTRATIONS.
We eventually turned to illustrations instead of real-life imagery to navigate sensitive topics with empathy and impact. This approach allowed us to communicate the emotional stakes of the campaign powerfully, without exploiting real people or escalating tensions.
The illustrations resonated deeply with the audience, reinforcing the urgency of voting to protect students and combat hate in the community.

OUR UNIQUE APPROACH.
What set us apart in Jennifer Lima’s campaign was our ability to combine innovative strategies with real-time responsiveness in a fast-paced political environment. We designed a dynamic social media strategy that prioritized engagement, visual storytelling, and narrative-driven posts to captivate voters and counter misinformation.
Our strategic planning ensured every move was intentional and aligned with Jennifer’s goals, while our powerful messaging reframed negative narratives into opportunities to strengthen her values and vision.
